Paladins Two

Hello Crafters.

I'm writing to you to day to first thank those of you who stuck with us with all the downtime, interruptions, and lack of updates. While we both (Vell and Robot) have plans, designs, and hopes for the server, we have a lot of problems that we need to fix.
I'm soliciting opinions on how we can fix and improve the server. With widespread problems with the economy, inflation, and unbalanced plugins, it might be best to start fresh. A fresh start, Paladins Two, would allow us to begin with a more balanced approach to creating a fun, cooperative, but slightly competitive environment.

  3. Do it now! Start a new server and keep the old server also.

    In the distant future, we can bring the old server back online: I am thinking 2-10 years from now it should be easy enough to run both at the same time.

    We need Worldedit, Permissions, Essentials, Multiverse, and McMMO to function, and we should do a fresh install of McMMO and leave all the experience rates at the default level.

    Jobs was a pain, it was worthless when inflation happened, it was confusing for the dumb-dumbs (even with a fancy brick wall) and did not have good support for item IDs for a variety of reason I don't want to get into. It's not supported anymore. It's best dropped.

    Creative was far more trouble than it was worth with lag-machines; best dropped.

    Flying has to go; reasons should be obvious but center around combat. Experience shows that (1) one cannot resist the temptation to fly and (2) flying makes the game easier and therefore less fun in the long run.

    Spawn should be a good 40 blocks tall of dirt, instead of the previous limitation (which was a limitation of 1.6 servers for a while).

    ServerSigns is missing a lot of its functionality, and its too annoying these days. It's best avoided.

    We can build a better spawn, probably easier to discuss on Steam the plans, etc.

    Instead of concentrating our efforts on building dungeons, I think we should work on incorporating player housing leases into spawn as our major feature (for a while).

    We do not need a plugin for this, but it does require some manual work as administrators act as virtual landlords for the renting out of perhaps 24x24 plots in town on a monthly basis. This would make spawn the primary place to hang out.

    However, not everyone would be guaranteed a plot; we do as many as we want to.

    Instead of jobs, I have been working on a detailed, balanced system in which items are sold to the server to earn money. Not every item will be able to be sold, this is basically just a carryover from Paladins but it has the major benefit of not competing with jobs to achieve its balance which is impossible because the money you earn from jobs continues to grow and therefore will never be consistently synced up with a static sign.

    Generally, it is a wheat economy, in which one wheat/carrot/potato = $1 and a hayblock = $10. The Planet X server tested this system with great results.

  4. Well, I just typed a really long explanation of what you should do and I hit preview and it all disappeared. I'm not typing it over. The main idea was that I am one of the longest playing players on the server and that you guys need to be more active with the community and dont take out /fly. I had a 7 paragraph long thing that actually made sense, but you know, that can't work for me.
